I’m getting one last recipe in just in time for Cinco De Mayo! I’m all about the food in general, but I really love a good frozen margarita, especially these frozen strawberry-mango margaritas. The perfect margarita that’s not too sweet with lots of fresh fruit flavor, and zip from fresh lime juice. So many times I go out and the frozen margaritas are just sugary slushy and that is not what I’m here for. If you’re like me and you want a quality frozen margarita, make these frozen strawberry-mango margaritas!
If you aren’t a strawberry-mango person, but you want a frozen margarita, you can absolutely swap in your favorite frozen fruits. I’ve made these with all strawberry, strawberry-peach, mango-raspberry, etc. You get the gist. As long as you have fruits you like and some tequila, grand marnier, and fresh lime juice, you’re in business!
tips for making frozen strawberry-mango margaritas
Fruit. As I mentioned above, you can really substitute in different fruits based on your tastes. Ultimately you are looking for about 2.5-3 cups frozen fruits for the amount of alcohol in this recipe. This yields a really smooth, frozen margarita that isn’t too boozy.
Blending. You will definitely need a blender for this recipe. I have a vitamix and I love that thing. But any high-powered blender will do. The bulk of the freezing for this margarita comes from the fruit (no one wants a watery marg), but we do add a little ice in at the end so the drink is nice and thick.
Tequila. Use your favorite tequila here! I am partial to blanco tequila and my favorite brand is Casamigos tequila, but honestly I also really like the tequila from Trader Joe’s for a budget friendly option.
Salt. I am 100% a salt or tajin on the rim of a margarita kind of gal. You can omit the salt completely or do a mix of salt and sugar if you prefer a salty-sweet rim.
