Can you believe that for once Cinco de Mayo is actually falling on a Tuesday?! This definitely calls for a celebration and there is honestly no better way to celebrate than with these passion fruit margaritas. For a long time, I really struggled with being able to create restaurant quality margaritas. Maybe I had the wrong ratios or maybe I wasn’t using the right ingredients, but I am pleased to say that I would happily pay at least $10 for this passion fruit margarita in any restaurant.
If you haven’t ever had passion fruit, it is honestly one of my favorite flavors ever. It’s fresh, bright, a little sour, and so great in a cocktail. I actually use it in a lot of cocktail recipes, like my passion fruit whiskey sour and the best ever mai tai. If you can find fresh passion fruit, great! I have a hard time getting my hands on it, so I always keep a container of passion fruit puree in my freezer. I prefer this brand because it doesn’t have a lot of sugar added and so it’s mostly fresh passion fruit juice. You can get the brand I use on Amazon here.
I have wanted to post more cocktail recipes and this is honestly one of the best I’ve made. I used dehydrated lime slices as a garnish, because I’m extra and I’ve written the method below! This cocktail is best enjoyed on a patio somewhere in the sun. Salud!
Dehydrated Lime Slices
2 limes, thinly sliced
Preheat an oven to 225 degrees F. Place a rack over a baking sheet and arrange the lime slices on top and then put tray in the oven for 4 hours or so, until the slices are dark in color and very dry. Cool to room temperature before using and store in an airtight container.

I prefer blanco tequila, but use your favorite!
I don’t care for margaritas, but after these I find myself craving them! Great simple recipe for a crowd-pleaser. This is going to be one of the cocktails at that “End of Quarantine Summer BBQ!” Keep the recipes coming!
