Sausage and Fennel Stuffing

This is a moist and delicious stuffing recipe that's so easy!

Step 1

Dry the Bread.  Tear your bread into pieces and let it dry out on a baking sheet overnight. Dry bread absorbs liquid better!

Step 2

Brown the sausage.  Brown the sausage in a large skillet with olive oil. Once cooked, remove from the pan, but leave the fat. 

Step 3

Saute the veggies. Cook the leeks, onion, and fennel in the same pan until browned. Add the apple and chopped herbs and cook until soft. 

Step 4

Toss.  Toss the dried bread with the sausage and veggies and remaining ingredients. Press into a baking pan.

Step 5

Bake.  Bake covered and then uncovered until the stuffing is browned and crispy. Rest 10 minutes and then serve.
