Step 1

Soak the breadcrumbs in the ricotta and egg. Mix the rest of the ingredients in by hand until just mixed. 

Step 2

Scoop the meatballs and roll them into balls. Lay them on a baking sheet and bake/broil until browned. 

Step 3

Saute the onions and garlic in olive oil with the spices and tomato paste, until the onions are soft. 

Step 4

Add in the crushed tomatoes and broth and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes. 

Step 5

Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer them for 20 minutes, until tender.
