Step 1

Reduce the apple cider down until it's concentrated and darker in color. 

Step 2

Beat butter and sugars until fluffy and then beat in the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. 

Step 3

Mix in the dry ingredients and reduced cider until the dough is just mixed with no flour streaks.

Step 4

Chill the dough for 1 hour and then roll out and cut into donuts and holes. 

Step 5

Fry the donuts in canola oil for about 1 minute per side, until browned. Drain on paper towels. 

Step 6

Toss the still-warm donuts in cinnamon sugar until well coated in the sugar. 

Step 7

Serve the donuts right away. Apple cider donuts are best enjoyed same day.
