Sour Cream Coffee Cake

An easy, one-bowl coffee cake recipe.

Step 1

Make the crumble. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, sea salt, and melted butter together with a fork until clumps form. Refrigerate. 

Step 2

Cream butter and sugar. Using a hand mixer, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. 

Step 3

Add wet ingredients. Mix in the sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and milk until smooth. 

Step 4

Fold in dry ingredients.  Using a rubber spatula, fold in the dry ingredients by hand until no streaks of flour remain,. 

Step 5

Layer batter.  Spread half the batter in a loaf pan, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and then top with the rest of the batter. 

Step 6

Top and bake.  Top with the streusel and bake for 60 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
