Ingredients

Step 1

Sear the beef. Heat oil in a dutch oven and sear the beef until deeply browned. Transfer to a plate.

Step 2

Saute the onions. Add the onions to the dutch oven with the garlic and spices and cook until the onions are soft. 

Step 3

Finish the braising liquid. Add in the minced chipotle peppers and tomatoes with the broth and bring to a simmer. 

Step 4

Braise.  Add the seared beef back to the pot with the braising liquid and transfer to the oven for 3 hours, until tender. 

Step 5

Assemble the bowls.  Add the rice to bowls and top with the shredded beef and desired toppings.
