Step 1

Add the bacon to a dutch oven and cook on low until it's crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a bowl.

Step 2

Saute the veggies in the bacon fat until soft, then add the spices and tomato paste. 

Step 3

Once the veggies are soft, stir in the chicken stock and bring to a simmer. 

Step 4

Once the soup is simmering, stir in the gnocchi and simmer until tender. 

Step 5

Add in the kale and basil and cream and simmer for 10 minutes before serving.
