Chicken Wonton Soup

Homemade chicken wonton soup is the best comfort food. Tender wontons filled with chicken and Thai basil in a seasoned clear broth with fresh ginger, soy sauce, and chili oil.

1. Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, scallions, ginger, garlic, egg, oyster sauce, salt, pepper, and Thai basil. 

2. Mix Well

Mix the meat really well with your hands or in a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. The meat should start to look a little stringy. 

3. Fold Wontons

Place about 2 teaspoons of filling in the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges and fold into a triangle. Wet the corners and fold over each other.

4. Simmer

Saute fresh chopped ginger in some sesame oil for 1 min. Add chicken stock and season with soy sauce. Add wontons and simmer for 5-6 minutes.
